VP of Data (Financial Services)

Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with an organisation in the Information Technology sector within the financial services industry to hire a VP of Data. This opportunity is based in Indonesia.

Position Overview

Lead the organisation's enterprise data strategy, governance, and management capabilities across lending products and financial services operations.
Drive transformational improvements in data management excellence, enabling business growth, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and drive major improvements in data management excellence across the organisation.
• Lead end-to-end data management initiatives, ensuring the integrity, accessibility, governance, and strategic use of enterprise data.
• Manage data capabilities across lending products within multifinance, banking, or fintech environments.
• Collaborate with multi-level and multi-country stakeholders to align data strategies with business objectives.
• Support product strategy, product development, and product management operations through effective data leadership.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain alignment with OJK regulations during product development phases.
• Play a key role in company transformation programmes, including strategy formulation, execution, and post-transformation evaluation.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• More than 15 years of experience within the lending financial services landscape in Indonesia.
• Relevant exposure to products within multifinance companies, banking institutions, or fintech organisations.
• Experience working in environments with multiple products and complex databases.
• Proven exposure to company transformation initiatives, including strategy, execution, and post-transformation assessments.
• Strong preference for candidates who have successfully established significant improvements in data management excellence.
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end data management.

Technical / Functional Expertise

• Strong expertise in lending products and financial services data ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience in product strategy, product development, and product management operations.
• Deep understanding of enterprise data management frameworks, governance, and operational excellence.
• Good network and established reputation with OJK, particularly in relation to regulatory compliance during product development processes.
• Experience managing complex data landscapes across multifinance, banking, or fintech organisations.

Soft Skills & Leadership Competencies

• Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing large-scale teams and functions.
