Procurement Manager (Manufacturing)

Monroe Consulting Group is assisting a leading personal care manufacturing company in their search for a Procurement Manager. This role will be responsible for leading the company's end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, packaging, indirect materials, spare parts, and services required to support manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will work closely with production, supply chain, engineering, finance, and key suppliers to develop sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier performance, and improve procurement efficiency.

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to support manufacturing operations, cost efficiency, supply continuity, and business growth.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier sourcing, evaluation, quotation, negotiation, contracting, purchasing, and supplier performance management.
• Source and procure raw materials, indirect materials, spare parts, MRO items, and services for plant operations and new plant construction
• Lead commercial negotiations with local and international suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and reliable supply arrangements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers while continuously identifying and evaluating alternative sourcing opportunities.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, supplier capacity, and potential supply risks to support procurement planning and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate closely with production, supply chain, engineering, maintenance, and finance teams to ensure procurement activities align with operational requirements.
• Analyze procurement spending and identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, process improvement, and value optimization.
• Establish and monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Lead, develop, and support the procurement team to improve sourcing capabilities and overall operational effectiveness.
• Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, savings initiatives, and strategic recommendations for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
• Excellent command of English, both verbal and written
• Strong experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within FMCG, chemicals, oleochemicals, or consumer goods industries
• Proven experience handling a broad range of procurement categories, including direct materials, indirect materials, MRO, spare parts, and services.
• Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Experience developing sourcing strategies, conducting cost analysis, and driving cost-saving initiatives.
• Good understanding of supply market dynamics, procurement risk management, and supplier performance management.
• Strong analytical, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/procurement systems.
