Business Analyst

We are a Singapore-based software consulting firm with a vibrant team in Bandung, seeking a talented Technical Business Analyst / Business Analyst to join our team.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of business and technology - understanding client needs, analysing business requirements, and working closely with developers, architects, QA engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and deliver mission-critical web and mobile applications.

The role goes beyond traditional business analysis. You will translate business requirements into practical and scalable technical solutions, while working closely with engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

We welcome candidates from Technical Business Analyst, Business Analyst, System Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager, Product Analyst, Software Engineer, or Technical Consultant backgrounds, provided they have strong technical understanding and experience working closely with software development teams.

Responsibilities

• Work as a key member of the project team to understand business needs, analyse requirements, and support successful project delivery.

• Collaborate with client stakeholders, including IT teams and system owners, as well as internal stakeholders such as Project Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Solution Architects.

• Gather, analyse, and synthesize business requirements into clear user stories, functional specifications, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.

• Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, and technically feasible solutions.

• Work closely with Solution Architects to understand technical requirements related to cloud architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, system integrations, and deployment strategies.

• Analyse technical requirements, identify dependencies, risks, and potential impacts, and communicate them clearly to relevant stakeholders.

• Analyse requested changes and recommend solutions that align with evolving business and technical needs.

• Manage and prioritize requirements and tasks across the project's technical track in a fast-paced environment.

• Create workflow diagrams, process flows, wireframes, and presentation materials to communicate business processes and technical concepts effectively.

• Work closely with engineering teams to clarify requirements and ensure solutions are understood and implementable.

• Support the preparation of technical deliverables, including:

  • Architecture diagrams

  • Cloud hosting and setup documentation

  • Third-party system integration requirements

  • Performance and load testing requirements

  • Solution design and technical specifications

  • Data extraction, transformation, and migration requirements

  • User stories and functional specifications

  • Workflow and business process diagrams

• Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.

• Prepare project reports, presentations, and status updates for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously seek opportunities to improve solutions and processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with excellent academic records or outstanding professional or personal achievements.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in business analysis, technical business analysis, system analysis, software development, product development, solution design, or related technical roles.

• Strong technical understanding of software development, with prior coding experience and the ability to understand application architecture, APIs, databases, and system integrations.

• Experience working closely with software engineering teams and participating in the full software development lifecycle.

• Strong understanding of web and mobile application development processes.

• Experience gathering, analysing, prioritizing, and translating business requirements into actionable technical requirements.

• Experience working in Agile software development environments.

• Strong analytical, conceptualization, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear documentation, diagrams, presentations, user stories, and implementation plans.

• Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong documentation skills.

• Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Based in Bandung or willing to relocate to Bandung.

Please note: Candidates from Product Management or Product Ownership backgrounds are welcome, but this role remains a technical business analysis position. Candidates should have a strong technical understanding and be comfortable working closely with software engineers, architects, and other technical stakeholders.

• Relevant certifications such as Cloud Certifications, Project Management Certifications, Product Management Certifications, or Business Analysis Certifications.

• Prior experience in a product development company, software consulting firm, or technology services environment.

• Experience working with software products or platforms from requirements through development and production.

• Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Database design

  • Cloud architecture (AWS/Azure)

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • System integration

  • RESTful APIs and microservices

  • DevSecOps practices

  • Agile / Scrum
