Senior QA Engineer

Our client is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to lead and shape our offshore QA function in Indonesia. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will define quality standards, establish testing frameworks, mentor junior QA professionals, and drive quality excellence across the organization.

Acting as a key bridge between our Indonesia-based QA team and the Singapore engineering organization, you will influence engineering decisions, champion best practices, and ensure that quality remains embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Owning and evolving the offshore QA practice, including standards, processes, and quality governance
• Mentoring and developing junior QA engineers through coaching, reviews, knowledge sharing, and structured guidance
• Serving as the primary QA liaison between offshore and onshore engineering teams
• Identifying capability gaps and implementing training, tooling, and process improvements
• Representing quality considerations during planning, prioritization, and cross-functional decision-making discussions
• Designing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks, architecture, and reusable components
• Establishing framework standards for fixtures, utilities, Page Object Models, and environment management
• Defining automation strategies, test data management approaches, and quality engineering best practices
• Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines across development, staging, and pre-production environments
• Governing test coverage metrics, reporting frameworks, and quality visibility processes
• Leading risk-based test planning and release quality strategies for complex product initiatives
• Executing and reviewing both manual and automated testing activities across APIs and web applications
• Performing root cause analysis on production issues and implementing sustainable quality improvements
• Driving exploratory testing efforts across high-risk and newly developed functionality
• Maintaining and enhancing test assets and execution cycles within Zephyr Scale
• Producing clear, actionable quality reports for engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders
• Defining and enforcing QA entry and exit criteria for sprint and release readiness

Ideal Profile

• You have 5+ years of QA engineering experience with a strong balance of manual testing and automation expertise
• You possess proven experience building, scaling, or significantly improving automation frameworks
• You bring deep proficiency in TypeScript, Playwright, and modern test automation practices
• You have extensive experience testing REST APIs, including contract validation, schema verification, and edge-case coverage
• You understand CI/CD pipelines and know how to integrate automated testing effectively into software delivery workflows
• You have successfully led, coached, or mentored QA professionals and enjoy developing high-performing teams
• You communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and can clearly articulate quality risks and recommendations
• You are highly autonomous, proactive, and comfortable making day-to-day quality decisions in distributed team environments
• You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and take a systematic approach to improving product quality
• You are passionate about building quality-focused engineering cultures and driving continuous improvement initiatives
