Your Impact as General Manager Business Development

As a strategic leader within the Business Development organization, you will:

Drive Strategic Business Growth

• • Define and execute growth strategies across Retail, Automotive, and Service Logistics sectors
  • Identify and capture high-value opportunities aligned with country, regional, and global priorities
  • Develop market-entry and expansion strategies for emerging logistics trends including e-commerce, omnichannel fulfillment, EV supply chains, and aftermarket logistics
  • Deliver sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and long-term customer value

Lead Market & Sector Development

• • Act as the country sector lead for Retail, Automotive, and Service Logistics
  • Drive thought leadership and strengthen DHL's market presence across key sectors
  • Translate regional growth strategies into actionable local plans
  • Utilize market intelligence to identify customer challenges and future growth opportunities

Influence Stakeholders & Build Strategic Partnerships

• • Engage senior stakeholders across country, regional, and global functions
  • Collaborate with Global Accounts and Regional Sector Leads to secure strategic opportunities
  • Represent DHL in industry forums, customer engagements, and market networks
  • Build trusted relationships with customers, partners, and key decision-makers

Lead Complex Deals & Commercial Excellence

• • Own and manage a high-value business development pipeline
  • Lead large-scale RFQs, strategic pursuits, and integrated logistics solutions
  • Develop differentiated offerings across warehousing, transportation, service logistics, and digital solutions
  • Drive strong commercial outcomes focused on profitability, scalability, and customer retention

Build Future-Ready Capabilities

• • Develop business cases supporting network expansion, automation, and service logistics capabilities
  • Drive investment strategies aligned with growth opportunities and competitive positioning
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and scalable logistics solutions
  • Support the evolution of DHL's capabilities across Retail, Automotive, and Service Logistics

Foster High-Performance Collaboration

• • Work closely with Solution Design, Operations, Transport, Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure seamless alignment throughout solution development, project implementation, and customer onboarding
  • Create a collaborative environment that supports business growth and operational excellence

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a commercially astute leader with strong logistics expertise and a proven track record of winning and delivering strategic growth opportunities.

✅ Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline
✅ 10–15 years of progressive experience within Logistics, Contract Logistics, or 3PL environments
✅ Extensive Business Development leadership experience within the logistics industry
✅ Strong understanding of:

• • Retail supply chains, e-commerce fulfillment, and omnichannel logistics
  • Automotive logistics including OEM, CKD/CBU distribution, aftermarket, and EV supply chains
  • Service Logistics including spare parts distribution, repair logistics, and reverse logistics

✅ Proven experience managing complex sales cycles, RFQs, and strategic customer opportunities
✅ Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build compelling business cases and growth strategies
✅ Deep understanding of warehousing, transportation, supply chain operations, and logistics business processes
✅ Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills
✅ Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to work across country, regional, and global teams opportunities
✅ Business-level English proficiency
