Senior Service Technician

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Senior Service Technician (Contract based) stationed in Poboya, Palu Sulawesi .

The role is to carry out maintenance, repairing, and inspecting activities, using diverse tools and techniques with limited supervision. Workshop or customer site based, working under the guidance of more senior service technicians.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
  2. Maintenance and Servicing Equipment.
  3. Plan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to all work procedures.
  4. Commissioning of products that includes pre-delivery inspections and hot (operational and at customer site) commissioning.
  5. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve common problems, as a first line support.
  6. Identify components, understand basic functionality, and conduct maintenance and repair work accordingly. This includes the provision of preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
  7. Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by suggesting possible improvements (according to sales area requirements).
  8. Use knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.
  9. Understand system functionality and interactions of hydraulics, mechanics, electrics, automation, pneumatics, and materials.
  10. Occasionally collect technical feedback in Sales Area (inputs into Database).
  11. Technology and automation: Set up equipment connectivity to customer network; commission and set up onboard automation; troubleshoot basic offboard automation and provide technical feedback to automation specialists.

PLANNING AND REPORTING

  1. Complete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. report and document on maintenance and/or repair completed – customer visit reports). Obtain customer authorization to invoice.
  2. Download control system data and upgrade software, at supervisor discretion.
  3. Plan to have the correct tools and parts needed to perform tasks according to work procedures (e.g. collect service kits to perform service on machine, book special tools required, etc.).

CUSTOMER VALUE ADD

  1. Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by suggesting possible improvements (according to sales area requirements).
  2. Use knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.
  3. Coach customer technicians on basic servicing and maintenance principles.

COLLABORATION WITH PARTS & SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT DIVISIONS

  1. Collaborate within the Sales Area (including territories/countries, etc.) with supervisor, senior technicians, and peers.
  2. Can be nominated for factory equipment division training if identified as a high potential.
  3. Give feedback based on challenges experienced in the field.
  4. Participate in local equipment division training and comply with the requirements of a Sandvik Maintenance Technician.
  5. Awareness of new product launches.

SUPERVISION / ACT AS A COACH

  1. Share knowledge with colleagues/Service Technicians while working, to build knowledge and skill levels within the service technician area.
  2. Understand the operation of the equipment and explain the functionality of hydraulic and electric systems to junior service technicians or customers.
  3. Assign simple tasks to junior staff and guide or advise them on how to do them.

  5. Identify and report any unsafe work behaviors/practices, hazards, and incidents immediately.

EXPERIENCE

  1. 4-6 years of experience, preferably with proficient experience and proven basic skills in Sandvik Equipment.
  2. Basic to proficient Root Cause Analysis.
  3. Basic Maintenance Course (BMC) certified.

EDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

  1. High school diploma or technical training or technical college.
  2. May start to specialize in equipment family (i.e., LOHO, etc.).
  3. Basic equipment knowledge and skills in at least one equipment type (automation a pre-requisite): Load & Haul, Drilling and Rigging, Rock Drill Technologies, Automation and/or Rock Drills.
  4. iSERIES – Basic knowledge and skills in the following: Decentralized Automation - Bus Technology; Control Systems; Mechanics; Hydraulics; Pneumatics; Electrics.
