Job Description

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented Steward Attendant to join our Stewarding team. The role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and back-of-house areas, ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, and service items are properly cleaned and sanitized, and supporting the smooth daily operation of the Food & Beverage Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize plates, glasses, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and cooking equipment.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas, dishwashing areas, storage areas, and other back-of-house facilities.

• Operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment safely and correctly.

• Ensure all cleaned equipment and utensils are properly stored and ready for use.

• Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and organizing work areas.

• Collect and dispose of waste according to hotel procedures and waste segregation standards.

• Maintain proper cleanliness of garbage and waste disposal areas.

• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to established procedures.

• Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.

• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen and stewarding supplies when required.

• Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to the Supervisor.

• Follow hotel hygiene, sanitation, health, and safety standards.

• Follow HACCP and food safety procedures as required.

• Support the Stewarding team during busy periods, events, and special functions.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Steward Supervisor, Chief Steward, or Kitchen Management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Steward, Kitchen Helper, Dishwasher, or similar position is preferred.

• Minimum high school education or equivalent.

• Good understanding of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation practices.

• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and perform manual work.

• Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

• Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and team-oriented.

• Good attention to detail.

• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Able to follow instructions and hotel policies and procedures.
