Area Sales Manager (Sumatera Region)

Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, distribution expansion, and operational excellence across the assigned area. This role leads distributor management and sales team execution to ensure achievement of business targets, market penetration, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute area sales plans to achieve sales, distribution, and productivity targets.
• Manage business performance across assigned territories, including sales growth, outlet coverage, and market expansion.
• Monitor sales performance, stock availability, and market trends to identify opportunities and address business gaps.
• Build strong partnerships with distributors to ensure effective sales execution, inventory management, and route-to-market effectiveness.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Coordinator team to improve execution quality and team performance.
• Conduct regular business reviews with distributors and internal stakeholders, followed by actionable improvement plans.
• Ensure effective implementation of trade programs, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and merchandising standards.
• Drive operational discipline through accurate reporting, performance tracking, and compliance with company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably Business, Marketing, or Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in General Trade (GT) sales, including experience managing distributors and area sales operations.
• Strong understanding of distributor management, sales execution, route-to-market strategies, and GT channel operations.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets, expanding distribution coverage, and driving business growth.
• Experience leading sales teams such as Sales Supervisors, Sales Coordinators, or field sales representatives.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify business opportunities and develop action plans based on data.
• Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and sales reporting tools.
• Willing to travel extensively within the assigned region.
