Role Summary:
Overseeing the smooth operation of the entire fleet of barges within the group and effective logistic planning of domestic logistics in order to achieve the Group’s Business Performance Target.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for efficient logistic planning and effective asset utilization to avoid barges queuing and/or idle, tank top at load/unloading ports and shortage of raw material for refineries processing;
- Work, coordinate and support all related stakeholders and internal functional groups in all respects of barge operation be it for inbound or outbound;
- Responsible for the safe, efficient, and good management of all aspects of the barge operation and maintenance in terms of availability, reliability, cost efficiency, compliance to HSE regulations, safety and maintenance of the Ships and barge crew management;
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to Regulatory Authorities, Classification Society, Flag States, Local Government including Radio Installations and validity of all barge operational certificates such as Hull Certifications, Pollution Prevention Equipment, Manuals and other required documents;
- Develop, track and monitor the performance indicator/KPI and highlight and suggest action plans on high negative variances;
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly and yearly reports regarding operational matters;
- Monitor the Ships operational and engineering budgets;
- Responsible for assisting in the planning, organization, logistics and execution of hull preventative maintenance program, including steel replacement, tank maintenance and protective coating program;
- Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement and new initiatives that optimize service and operational costs for the company.
To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience min 15 years in related field with 3 years in the same position;
- Able to demonstrate previous experience of barge operation management and managing people, including performance assessment;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to analyze operational data to help improve efficiencies and to also predict operational problems;
- Experience in shipbuilding/ship repair industry, Maintenance and Engineering systems is a plus.
